CHANEL

Since I got to the U.S i had 2 quick trips to New York, when i know i have a place to stay there I don't hesitate to pack my bags and get on the bus. The first time I went I had to find a place to stay in midtown Manhattan for Teen Vogue Fashion University, but the cheapest hotels were almost $ 300 a night, i almost booked a hotel but than a relative saw on Facebook that I'm coming to the big city and offered me to stay with here. . What I did not know then that her daughter - (that in her house I'm going to stay in) works in Chanel .. the minute I got to the beautiful apartment in the Upper East Side I began to notice all the Chanel products around the house.. 2 beautiful Chanel bags on the table, papers with the Chanel logo next to the computer, a box filled with Chanel glasses, in the shower the shampoo, conditioner, body soap and face were all Chanel and of course the Chanel body lotion. every morning i took a shower in the Chanel products and left the house with a big smile on my face.

I asked Einat, the amazing woman who works in this dream job, sooooo many questions! about how she got this job, if she met Karl, about the inters there, if they get the products for free?!? and sooooo many other questions..So she didn't get the chance to meet Karl, but she says he's crazy , they get most of the beauty products for free, couple of time a year they get to buy the bags for 10% of their original price, and they also have special sales for the employers where they can buy the stuff for really cheap prices! in one of the days that i was there Einat came back home bearing a gift - Chanel pink lip gloss and Body Lotion. I was beyond happy when she gave me that, i was so excited about going back to MD with those 2 products.

מאז שהגעתי לארצות הברית עשיתי כבר 2 גיחות לניו יורק, כשיש לי מקום להתארח בו אני לא מהססת לארוז את חפציי ולעלות על האוטובוס. בפעם הראשונה שנסעתי הייתי חייבת למצוא מקום במרכז מנהטן ללון בו בשביל האוניברסיטה של טין ווג, המלונות "הזולים" היו במחיר של כמעט 300$ ללילה, היד כבר הייתה בחצי הדרך לכיס עד שדרך פייסבוק קרובת משפחה ראתה שאני מגיעה לעיר הגדולה והציעה לי להתארח אצלה.. מה שלא ידעתי אז זה שהבת שלה - (זאת שבבית שלה אני הולכת לישון) עובדת בשאנל.. היא יד ימינה של האישה שאחראית לכל חנויות המותג בארצות הברית. איך שהגעתי לדירה היפיפה באפר איסט סייד התחלתי לקלוט את כל המוצרים של שאנל שמפוזרים ברחבי הבית.. על השולחן היו מונחים להם 2 תיקים יפיפים , בקומה למטה איפה שהתמקמתי היה את המחשב ולידו מכתביות עם הלוגו של שאנל , ליד הייתה קופסה מלאה בקופסאות משקפיים של שאנל, בחדר אמבטיה היה שמפו, מרכך, סבון פנים וסבון גוף של שאנל ואיך אפשר בלי הקרם גוף. כל בוקר הייתי מתקלחת במוצרי שאנל למיניהם ויוצאת לעיר עם חיוך גדול על פניי.

את עינת האישה המדהימה שעובדת בעבודה החלומית לא הפסקתי לשאול שאלות , על איך היא הגיעה לזה , אם יש להם מתמחים , אם היא פגשה את קארל בכבודו ובעצמו ואם מי שעובד בשאנל מקבל את כל המוצרים בחינם?!? אז את קארל היא לא פגשה , אבל היא אומרת שהוא מטורף ( אני אמרתי שגם השמועה אומרת שמארק ג'ייקובס מטורף , אבל עינת שעבדה לפני זה בלואי ויטון יודעת שמארק בכלל לא מתקרב לרמת הטירוף של קארל ), הרבה ממוצרי הטיפוח של המותג הם מקבלים רוב הזמן בחינם או בהנחה ממש משמעותית, את התיקים את יכולים לרכוש מספר מוגבל של פעמים בשנה ב10% מהמחיר המקורי שלו ( כלומר תיק שעולה 2500$ עולה להם רק 250$) ומידי פעם יש להם מכירות פרטיות של הביגוד שוב פעם בהנחות רציניות ביותר.. כשאני הייתי היה להם מכירה כזאת שממנה עינת חזרה עם בגד ים ו2 שרשראות וחגורה. על המתחמים היא סיפרה שזה ניצול - אבל ככה זה התמחות, ושלהתמחות שם יעזור לאנשים שאח"כ יוצאים לשוק .העבודה בתחום האופנה כנראה שלא מסמיק שיגעתי את עינת עם השאלות כי באחד הימים לבשתי שמלה ורודה - היא אמרה " איזה יופי את אוהבת ורוד" , לא יחסתי לזה יותר מידי חשיבות אבל אח"כ היא באה עליי נושאת מתנה - ליפ גלוס ורוד וקרם גוף של שאנל. החיוך שגם ככה היה על פניי פשוט נמתח ולא ירד.. מביקור הראשון בניו יורק חזרתי כ"כ מאושרת שלא יכלתי לדמיין מה יהיה בטיול השני

I spent the night before my second trip to New York in my uncles house, the second I arrived to his house he told me he had something for me.. he entered the room and came back with a bag, a Chanel bag! he mentioned before something about a Chanel bag but i never thought he was serious, when I saw the bag i was in denial I said that there is noooooooo way it's real, it looked real and it came with a certificate and a book that tells you how to treat a Chanel bag but i still wasn't sure.. after spending hours reading about how to spot a fake bag and after talking to Einat I realized that my Bag is REAL. Now I have a beautiful real Chanel bag! His first day out was in New York, a very happy teenager was walking around the streets of Manhattan with a beautiful Chanel bag. the first week we actually shared a bed.

that day i also took my bag to Brooklyn to meet Emma and Tochi, we went to the MOMA and we ate like tourists in Planet Hollywood.

בלילה לפני הפעם השנייה שנסעתי לניו יורק ישנתי אצל דוד שלי , איך שהגעתי הוא אמר לי שיש לו פה משהו בשבילי.. אז הוא נכנס לחדר והוציא תיק, תיק של שאנל! בעבר הוא אמר לי משהו על זה אבל לקחתי את זה בתור בדיחה וממש לא חשבתי שהוא רציני אבל אז כשראיתי את התיק וראיתי את התעודה בתוכו ואת הספרון שמדריך איך להתייחס לתיק של שאנל ואחרי מליון חיפושים באינטרנט של איך לזהות תיק אמיתי ממזויף הבנתי שבידי תיק של שאנל - אחד אמיתי ויפיפה שהוא מאותו רגע רק שלי!! את היום הראשון שלו בחוץ הוא עשה בניו יורק למחרת מונח על ידה של נערה מאוד מאוד שמחה.בשבוע הראשון חלקנו מיטה ושמיכה.

באותו יום גם נסעתי לברוקלין לחנות יש שניה ופגשתי את אמה וטושי, ראיתי את הבלגן שנשאר אחרי המצעד ניצחון של הינקיז ,ביקרתי במומה ואכלתי ארוחה של תיירים בפלאנט הוליווד.

Eric Daman - TVFU

I really don’t know why it takes me so long to write about the seminars that I took in NYC.. maybe because it's officially over when I post it.

I'm going to start by telling you about my first seminar - it was with Gossip Girl costume designer and creative director for Charlotte Russ, Eric Daman. i got this amazing opportunity to meet and learn from someone that is work i admire. the seminar started by him telling us how he started - he started as a model and discovered that is real passion was to be behind the scene and to actually style the shoot, because he was already in the industry he had some connections and he started getting jobs.. he was lucky enough to work with the amazing Patricia field on the set of sex and the city.. and then to land the job in GG and so many other great project..

After hearing about his path in the industry we go to ask him some questions, we were asked to avoid asking about GG since the event was sponsored by Charlotte Russ , it didn't happen and most of the questions were about internships GG and styling.I wanted to hear his point of view on so called "rules" in fashion, we share the same opinion - there are no rules in fashion, a lot of people seem to think there are rules but there are not.. people should wear what they like and if you think it looks good it's all that matter. you can also tell that rules don't exist by thinking about denim on denim that was a considered as a big no-no and now is a huge trend or by looking at Eric himself , he breaks the " no more than two pieces of jewelry"..

Eric told us a little bit about working on the set of Gossip Girl, about how much he loves to dress Chuck Bass ( because dressing boys is boring but check's character gives him some freedom) , and how he have to create around 200 outfits for every episode. he gets the script a week before the shooting and start creating the outfits with his team...in the winter it's harder because you have to find 200 different coats for every episode!

In regards to his work with Charlotte Russ we got to see behind the scene of the next campaign, we also heard some styling tips and about some trends for the season.. the Charlotte Russ team also brought some clothes that are still not for sale, so it was nice seeing them before everyone else! Eric really proves throw this company that it's not always about how much money you have it's about how you wear and combine your clothes. we all got a beautiful gift from Charlotte Russ, a silver necklace, 3 20% discount cards to Charlotte Russe and a pin with Eric's upcoming book name on it.. and yes Eric Daman wrote a book that is going to be out in a few month, the name of the book is "you know you want" . on the book there are some styling tips and a very important message.

I was sitting from row and admiring every second of this seminar, Daman is such a nice guy that hopefully one day I'll get to work with.

TEEN VOGUE FASHION UNIVERSITY - DAY 1

Lion of ido

It's hard to believe TVFU is already over, I waited for this weekend for so long and now it's over.. I met designers, editors and stylists that I admire and lived in a dream for 3 wonderful days! Last Friday was the opening event in the juicy couture store, thanks to facebook I got to meet some of the other students before the event.. the first one I met was Bianca from cactus fashion , I met her in sacks fifth avenue where she got herself a stunning marc Jacobs bag (I'm sooo jealous). The private juicy shopping event was amazing – filled with food music and clothes.. the store offered us an exclusive 25% discount which was great but not really my style – I find this store to be a mixture of Betsey Johnson and Victoria Secret pink. There were 5 cute models walking around the store with sweets and drinks, we drank some pink lemonade and ate the cutest cupcakes and cookies in the world! A band called Lion of Ido was playing (the band was awesome!! And one of them was from Israel J ) and after the band a really cool DJ was in charge of the music ..

קשה לי להאמין שאני כבר אחרי השבוע המטורף הזה בניו יורק , חיכיתי לו כ"כ הרבה ועכשיו שהוא עבר זה לא נראה אמיתי. זכיתי לראות מעצבים סטייליסטים ועורכים שאני מעריכה ופשוט חייתי את החלום במשך 3 ימים מטורפים. באמת שאני לא יודעת מאיפה להתחיל לספר על זה ואיפה לסיים.. בזכות האתר הגאוני הזה שקוראים לו פייסבוק יצא לי להיפגש לפני תחילת הטירוף עם מספר אנשים שגם באו לסופ"ש לקורס הקצרצר, בהתחלה נפגשתי עם ביאנקה (מקקטוס פאשיון) בחנות של סאקס פיפת' אבניו שם היא רכשה לה תיק של מארק ג'ייקובס ואני הסתכלתי בקינאה, אח"כ הצטרפו אלינו עוד מספר חברים וטילנו לנו בעיר לפני אירועי הפתיחה. אירוע הפתיחה התקיים בחנות של ג'וסי קטור, מותג שלא כ"כ מוכר בארץ אך היסטרי לגמרי בארה"ב וכשבוחנים את הבגדים אפשר להבין למה.. האירוע היה מלא בנשנושים , מוזיקה ובגדים! זכינו להנחה של 25% כל כל החנות , הסתובבו בנינו מספר דוגמנים הורסים שחילקו עוגיות, סוכריות על מקל , מאפינסים קטנים וחמודים , לימונדות ורודות ופופקורן באריזה מהממת.. להקה צעירה ומגניבה הופיעה (הסולן שלה אפילו היה ישראלי) ואח"כ תפסה את הבמה די ג'יי ממש מגניבה. באותו ערב גם התחילו לאט לאט חלוקת המתנות של האירוע, יצאנו משם עם דיסק של הלהקה ( Lion of ido) שאח"כ גם הם גם חתמו למי שרצה , מגזינים היו מפוזרים בכל החנות ומי שרוצה היה מוזמן לקחת ובכניסה קיבלנו פספורט ורוד של ג'וסי קטור שאני עדיין לא ממש בטוחה למה הוא משמש אבל למי אכפת – הוא ממש חמוד.

לאירוע בחרתי ללבוש את אותה השמלה מהפוסט הקודם - למעשה כשכתבי את הפוסט ההוא עלה לי הרעיון להוסיף אותה למזוודה וכך עשיתי ויצא שלבשתי אותה.. בברצלונה זה היה במראה הקיצי וזה המראה החורפי. הוספתי לשמלה נעליים וג'קט דמוי עור מהייץ' אנד אם, צעיף מאורבן אאוטפיטרס, תיק של אלדו ושרשרת ממרוקו.

living the dream

Last year I read about teen vogue fashion university , it's a weekend-long event where you choose the classes you want, get an insider-only opportunity to meet who's who, learn what it takes from the best in the business, and have fun along the way. Sounds like a dream! (at least to me). I really wanted to attend but I knew it will never happen, after all I was in my senior year and leaving Israel for a 3 days vacation in NY wasn't possible.
After my graduation I was facing a 6 month break between school and the army, I needed some ideas on how to use this free time... And the idea of flying to NY to the teen vogue university no longer sounded like fantasy. So on Aug 10 I sent my application (It was the last day to send them!), I was supposed to get my letters of acceptance (or rejection) on September 15, I counted the days waiting in suspense for an answer. On Sep 15 No answer came but thanks' to Facebook I had some hope.. Sometime on my trip to Turkey I lost my hope, I thought I wasn't accepted, throw the day I had a sad face but was able to say "Never mind, I'll try again after the army" .. But today I got a special E-mail that told me I got in! I was accepted to Teen Vogue fashion University class of 2009!! I am soooooo excited! in 20 days I'm going to live the dream for 72 hours! My U.S. trip was planned anyway, only now it's sooner .. I'm going to be there for a period of two months and spend quality time with my family there and get together with some old friend and maybe meet some new friends!

שנה שעברה ראיתי פרסומים בטין ווג על אוניברסיטה בת 3 ימים בה אתה מקבל הזדמנות לפגוש וללמוד מהאנשים הכי חמים בתעשיית האופנה , האירוע מתחיל בתצוגת אופנה מרהיבה וממשיך בקורסים שאתה בוחר לפי ההעדפות האישיות שלך ומסתיים באירוע ענק ( השנה באירוע הסיום נראה גם את הסרט "גליון ספטמבר" ונזכה לשיחה עם הבמאי!). המחשבה על להיות במקום כזה וללמוד מהאנשים האלה נשמעה לי חלומית! אך ידעתי שזה לא אפשרי כי מה הסיכויים שהוריי יתנו לי לטוס סתם כך לניו יורק לחופשה קצרצרה של 3 ימים!?
השנה לאחר שהגיוס שלי נדחה ועמדתי לפני חופש עצום בלי יותר מידי רעיונות לאיך לנצל את הזמן, הרעיון של לטוס לאוניברסיטה החלומית הזאת כבר לא היה נשמע כזה הזוי! אז ב10 לאוגוסט שלחתי את הבקשה שלי (ממש בדקה ה90! זה היה היום האחרון לשלוח בקשות!) מכתבי הקבלה (או הדחייה ) היו אמורים להישלח מה15 בספטמבר , ואני ספרתי את הימים וחיכיתי במתח לתשובה. ב15 לספטמבר שום תשובה לא הגיעה ולפי עדכונים מפייסבוק ראיתי שיש עוד תקווה.. מתישהו בטיול לטורקיה הגעתי למסקנה שלא התקבלתי ואחרי יום עם פרצוף קצת חמצמץ הסכמתי להגיד "לא נורא , ננסה שוב אחרי הצבא" .. אבל היום הגיע לי מייל מיוחד והודיע לי שאני בפנים! שהתקבלתי לאוניברסיטת האופנה של טין ווג מחזור 2009!! ההתרגשות בעיצומה.. עוד 20 ימים בדיוק אני הולכת לחיות את החלום במשך 72 שעות!
הטיול לארה"ב בכל מקרה תוכנן , רק עכשיו הוא הוקדם.. אני הולכת להיות שם לתקופה של חודשיים בערך ולבלות זמן איכות אם המשפחה ששם , לפגוש חברים ישנים ולהכיר חדשים ובעיקר לעשות חיים.
